Year of the (last) Tiger?

Tigers are just a whisker away from extinction. The International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN) Species Survival Commission’s ‘2007 Red List of Threatened Species’ assesses tigers as ‘endangered to critically endangered’. Chinese New Year on Feb 14 will be the first day of the Year of the Tiger, which is one of the signs on the 12-year cycle of the Chinese zodiac calendar.
