About Us

ASIAVIEWS was conceived to fulfill a particular need.

Today’s global media is dominated by major multinational and multi media organizations, mostly offering a perspective from outside Asia. Few media organizations talk about regional and global issues from the Asian perspective. ASIAVIEWS aims to change this reality by getting together experienced journalists with in-depth knowledge of Asia to create a regional news magazine that speaks for the voices of the region, providing the region and the world, news and views from the vantage point of those living and working in the region. ASIAVIEWS provides a means to communicate to a wider audience the pulse of Asia.

Leading regional media organisations, such as Malaysian Business (Malaysia), Newsbreak (Phillipines), Tempo (Indonesia) and Today (Singapore) have joined hands to publish an on-line weekly regional magazine covering news and commentaries from around South-east Asia and beyond.

Launched in January 2004, with the support of the Sasakawa Peace Foundation, ASIAVIEWS is essential reading for decision makers in government, the private sector, academia and civil society who want to understand how Asians perceive events in their region and around the world.
